Students from Alisha DeCelle’s third grade class at Genet Elementary School won a local math competition for schools from Columbia, Renssealer and Greene counties. Students answered math questions at their grade level as part of online games while at home during the week-long voluntary competition.
Maya Preston, a student in Ms. DeCelle’s class, answered the most correct questions (963).
Each of Genet’s fifth grade classes also participated. Mary Ball’s class placed third, Scott Siver’s class came in fourth and Lori Bishop’s class finished fifth.
