Bell Top Moving Up Ceremony 2016 1Fifth graders at Bell Top received certificates Friday morning as their elementary school careers come to a close. The students will finish out classes this week and then matriculate to Howard L. Goff Middle School in the fall.

“We’re extremely proud of you,” Principal Jim McHugh said. “Today is just one more small step in your education.”

The students opened the Moving Up Ceremony by singing the National Anthem and “We are the Champions” under the direction of music teacher Maggie Glennie.

Zachary Teresco and Shea Thorpe received the New York State Attorney General’s Triple C Award for “Character, Courage and Commitment” and Amalia Nardone won the NYS Comptroller’s Student Achievement Award for Leadership and Commitment to Public Service.

All graduating students received a certificate and were congratulated by Mr. McHugh and the 5th grade teachers.

The program ended with a photo slideshow featuring each of the students.
