Second graders in Stephanie Gardinier’s class at Donald P. Sutherland Elementary School have been learning about different types of communities – urban, rural and suburban. To enhance the lessons in class, art teacher Mary Kay Ostwald worked with the students to create a cityscape mural, which is now hanging outside their room.

“We discussed that our school is in a rural community,” said Mrs. Gardinier, “so we wanted to show our kids what it would be like to look out the window and see something much different!”
