There was a festive atmosphere in German class at Howard L. Goff Middle School on Thursday as students celebrated German American Day. They had their faces painted with the German flag by Frau Fey, who was sporting a Bayern Munich soccer shirt, and then learned about famous German Americans, such as the founders of Kraft, Boeing and Snapchat.

“We should do this every day!” said one excited student while playing bingo.

Students used candy corn, which was created by a German American company, as markers to fill the spaces which were clues about German Americans.
