Capital Project

The East Greenbush CSD has proposed a $116 million capital project that, if approved by voters, would improve facilities and grounds at all seven schools at no additional cost to the local taxpayer. The proposed capital project will be a proposition on the School Budget Vote and Board Election ballot scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Rensselaer County Music scholarship winners

Three seniors from Columbia High School won scholarships recently at the Rensselaer County School Music Association Scholarship Competition.

Kaitlyn Evensen won 2nd place in the college division for her performance of Unaccompanied Bach Sonata for cello and will receive a $500 scholarship to supplement her music studies this summer. She will be attending Schenectady County Community College in the fall where she will major in music.

Sarina Xin and Maggie Dickson won 1st and 2nd place, respectively, in the 11-12 grade division. Ms. Xin performed Unaccompanied Bach Partita for violin and will receive a $300 scholarship.

Ms. Dickson performed “La Flute de Pan” by Jules Mouquet and will receive a $150 scholarship.  She will be minoring in music at Marist College in the fall.
