Green Meadow Elementary School won the District-wide 5th Grade Math Competition on Monday at Red Mill, clinching the victory in the third and final round. Each elementary school sent teams of five students to answer math problems and test their problem solving skills.
The competition included two team rounds and one individual round in which students were tested on subjects such as algebra, geometry and exponents.
Green Meadow’s team of John DelGrosso, Patrick Donnelly, Ryan Harris, Allison Holston and Ada Wu was coached by 5th grade teacher Susanna Schreck. Alternates Lilianna Panasci and Anthony Jones-Stratigos helped the team prepare for the competition.
