All school staff at Superintendent's Conference DayThe entire East Greenbush Central School District staff returned to school Tuesday morning for the first of three days of meetings and professional development. Employees filled the Columbia High School auditorium where they were welcomed by Superintendent of Schools Jeff Simons.

Mr. Simons discussed the many positives of the district, such as the high student academic achievement, excellence in classroom teaching, supportive safety nets and the positive parental and community support. He also presented on how the district will move forward with an emphasis on making students college- and career-ready.

“This morning’s session was intended to invite our staff to fully engage in the district’s efforts to build on our successes,” Mr. Simons said. “We need all hands on deck to ensure continuous growth of our organization in the delivery of services to our students and community.”

Employees also heard from the following before reporting to their respective buildings for faculty and department meetings:

  • Assistant Superintendents Michele Bowman and Lawrence Edson – District Policy Updates
  • Safety Coordinator Jeff Tooker – Safety Plan
  • Assistant Superintendent James McHugh – Curriculum and Instruction
