Columbia Athletics helped raise more than $10,000 for ovarian cancer research by participating in the 16th annual Teal Ribbon Run/Walk on Sunday morning in Albany’s Washington Park.

The team, led by Athletic Director Michael Leonard and his wife Mary Signorelli, had 550 participants and raised a record amount of money, which nearly doubled last year’s amount. It will be donated to Caring Together, Inc., which seeks to raise awareness of ovarian cancer and raise funds in support of research.

“I’m so proud of all of our students, coaches and parents,” Mr. Leonard said.
