Sumdog competition pizza party

Students celebrate with a pizza party after participating in the Sumdog online math competition.

Fifth graders from Genet Elementary School and fourth graders from Bell Top Elementary School recently participated in a local math competition for schools from Columbia, Renssealer and Greene counties. Students answered math questions at their grade level as part of online games while at home during the week-long voluntary competition.

Maya Preston, a Genet student in Mrs. Ball’s class, answered the most correct questions (967). It is the second year in a row that she scored the highest in the competition.
