Employees from the district’s Transportation Department brightened Thanksgiving for local families in need by donating 50 turkeys to the Nassau Resource Center on Saturday. The turkeys were purchased through a generous donation from Hannaford Supermarket and funds raised during the month of November from Transportation Department employees.

Annually, on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, members of the Transportation Department travel to Hannaford Supermarket to pick up the turkeys and deliver them to the Nassau Resource Center where families are able to pick up the turkeys, along with other items donated by the community.
