Genet kindergarten students build a robot at the Tech Valley Center of Gravity in Troy.

Genet kindergarten classes visited the Tech Valley Center of Gravity in Troy this month for a culminating field trip. Students had the opportunity this year to work in Genet’s own Makerspace so this was a wonderful opportunity for them to see other Makerspaces in action and extend learning.

The ThinQubator at Tech Valley Center of Gravity is one of just a small handful of children’s Makerspaces around the world. In this space, they empower kids and families to think, tinker, collaborate, skill-build, design and MAKE. Through hands-on experiences, kids deeply explore science, technology, engineering, art and math in engaging, fun exercises.

Genet kindergarten students toured the facilities and saw work in progress. Each of the kids also made a battery operated self-drawing robot!
