Mr. Leonard with Columbia students at the Teal Ribbon RunColumbia High School staff, students and families raised $12,000 for ovarian cancer awareness and support programs through their participation in the 17th annual Teal Ribbon Run on Sunday morning at Washington Park in Albany.

The Columbia Athletics/Team Betty Signorelli group, which was led by Columbia Athletic Director Michael Leonard and his wife Mary Signorelli, included 534 participants. It was the most of any group at the event.

Proceeds will be donated to Caring Together, an ovarian cancer support, education and awareness group located in the Capital Region.

“I would like to thank all of our student athletes, coaches, parents and community for the unbelievable support for this event,” Mr. Leonard said. “It was a great event and I think I got lapped by only 55 members of our team.”

Congratulations to Goff 8th grader Abby Moxon who finished 1st among all female runners (19:49) and Columbia senior Liam Danaher who finished 3rd place among all males (16:27).
