Chamber Singers to Perform on CBS6’s “Melodies of Christmas”
Five Columbia Chamber Singers will be performing on the CBS6 production of “Melodies of Christmas” on December 24 and 25 as members of the Empire State Youth Chorale.
Columbia Adopt-a-Family Program Gives Gifts to 52 Local Families
Columbia Athletic Director Michael Leonard and School Social Worker Audra Di Bacco would like to thank everyone who participated in this year’s Adopt-a-Family program. With your help Columbia was able to adopt 52 families and provide much needed gifts and clothing to 155 people in this community.
District Begins Search for Goff Middle School and Red Mill Elementary Principals
East Greenbush Central School District is seeking two dynamic education leaders to be the new principals of Howard L. Goff Middle School and Red Mill Elementary School. Both positions start July 1, 2019 and applications are due by January 25, 2019.
Service Dog to Begin Working with Columbia Student in January
Beginning January 7, 2019, there will be a Service Dog in Columbia High School assisting a student with a specific task related to his/her learning. This certified Service Dog is trained and recognized by an accredited training program under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and allowed access to public spaces.
McKenna Erwell Named VENT Fitness Athlete of the Week
Columbia High School senior McKenna Erwell has been named the VENT Fitness Athlete of the Week. Ms. Erwell is a three-sport athlete, president of the Key Club and volunteers for a variety of causes including the Ronald McDonald House and the Bus Stop Club.
