The Green Meadow Recycling Club collected a mountain of plastic shopping bags from students in December, and in return, gave out reusable tote bags with “GreenER Meadow” written on them. The plastic bags, all 3,600 of them, were later brought to Target where they will be recycled by the company.
“I am so proud of our students,” said Principal Daniel Garab. “This project not only had a positive impact by recycling plastic shopping bags, but it taught students how reusable bags can help the environment.”
The project was organized by 4th Grade Teacher Leila Fuleihan and Teaching Assistant Jennifer Cuttler.
Special thanks to the Green Meadow PTO for purchasing the Green Meadow Reusable Bags!
