Lottery Results for 2024-25 Pre-K Program

The East Greenbush CSD conducted a lottery for the 2024-25 Pre-K Program on Wednesday evening in the Genet Elementary School auditorium. The lottery, which was open to the public, was operated by an independent auditor. The first 165 children drawn in the lottery are being offered spots in the free Pre-K Program. All remaining applicants will be added to a wait list.

Goff students competing at Odyssey of the Mind Regional TournamentTen teams from East Greenbush Central School District competed in the 2019 Odyssey of the Mind Region 4 Tournament on Saturday at Coxsackie-Athens Central School District. Teams from Goff Middle School, Donald P. Sutherland Elementary School and Citizen Genet Elementary School each placed third in their respective events.

According to the Odyssey of the Mind website, the competition is “an international creative problem-solving program that engages students in their learning by allowing their knowledge and ideas to come to life in an exciting, productive environment.”

East Greenbush Central School District had two teams participate as Primary teams, which are students in grades K-2, who perform in a non-competitive manner. The district’s other eight teams participated competitively, and three of those won medals.

This year’s regional competition included 94 teams and more than 600 students from 18 different school districts.

“East Greenbush had a lot of new coaches, who are parent volunteers, and new participants this year, so we are very proud of the accomplishments of our students,” said the district’s coordinator Julie Adadjo. “ Many are excited to come back again next year and do even better.”

Special thanks to Columbia High School sophomore David Adadjo who designed the team t-shirts.
