With the new school year just underway, it is appropriate to acknowledge the East Greenbush Central School District maintenance, buildings and grounds, and technology staff for their diligent work this summer.
Here’s a rundown of all that was accomplished:
- Classroom cleaning – Every classroom in each school is emptied out and cleaned
- Re-install computers after room cleaning – All schools
- Convert former Questar rooms back to standard classrooms – Goff
- Assemble and install new desks in science rooms and install new desks in other classrooms – Goff
- Add new exhaust fans and new kiln – Goff
- Add new interactive video boards to classrooms – Columbia, Goff and Genet (this project will continue at other schools this fall)
- Enrolled new chromebooks for 6th grade students – Goff
- Classroom painting – Various rooms and hallways in all schools
- Clean and wax floors – All schools
- Gymnasium floor resurfacing – All schools
- Add new playground fill – All elementary schools
- Replace domestic hot water heater – Columbia
- Replace exhaust fans on roof – Genet
- Move art and music classrooms to basement and create new collaborative work space – Bell Top
- Setup classrooms for new CTAEP location – Genet
- Convert storage room into new bathroom – Genet
- Install new girls’ bathroom for CTAEP – Genet
- Install new buddy bench on playground – Genet
- Repair front steps and railings that have heaved – Genet
- Repair suspension bridge on playground – Genet
- Install new sensory path – DPS/Genet
- Install new internal antenna amplifier system for first responders to have clear radio response – Columbia
- Replace complete water main in basement including new electronic meter, new backflow preventer and valving – Red Mill
- Paint and install new furniture in new principal’s office – Red Mill
- Repaving – Columbia, Genet, DPS
- Sealcoating and Restriping – Columbia, Genet, Goff (including Sorensco parking lot) and Green Meadow
- Replace entire showcase in front entryway including new lighting, paint and storefront glass – Red Mill
- Install new lighting in the main entryway – Red Mill
- Replace main district data room A/C unit – Central Administration
- Repairs and re-striping of tennis courts – Columbia
- Sweep and repair turf field – Columbia
- Repair water fountains – Columbia Turf Field
- Paint bathrooms and concession stand – Columbia Turf Field
- Repair sinkhole in back field by installing new manhole and grate – DPS
- Install new fencing around septic system covers in rear field – DPS
- Mowing, weeding, planting and seeding – All schools
- Repair and repaint playground equipment
- Prepare all sports fields for the opening day of fall sports
- Recycle electronics
- Equipment maintenance
