Capital Project

The East Greenbush CSD has proposed a $116 million capital project that, if approved by voters, would improve facilities and grounds at all seven schools at no additional cost to the local taxpayer. Physical therapist William Smith simulates the symptoms of a stroke using a student volunteer.

Seventh grade students learned more about anatomy from physical therapist William Smith earlier this month. Mr. Smith, from In-Step Physical Therapy, was invited by Science teacher Donnamarie Vlieg to build on their recent unit by discussing how the body works and how he treats specific injuries and conditions.

As students took turns displaying symptoms of various ailments at the front of the classroom, other students gave reports based on what the patient was experiencing.

“They were a great group of kids,” Mr. Smith said. “I was really impressed with their knowledge base and how far along they were. Mrs. Vlieg is doing an amazing job.”
