Columbia parents met their students’ teachers at Open House on Tuesday evening, moving from class to class through their full schedule.

Open House began in the auditorium with Principal John Sawchuk discussing some new initiatives, including its paperless communication with parents and the new Columbia app. Superintendent of Schools Jeff Simons also addressed the parents and encouraged a partnership between them and the school staff.

“I invite you to work with us to help us understand the unique skills and challenges your child brings to his or her high school experience,” Mr. Simons said. “In addition to open house, Columbia is one of a small number of high schools which provides opportunities for parent teacher conferences later in the school year. I hope that you will take advantage of these opportunities to partner with us in the education of your son or daughter.”
