Greetings Parents, Guardians, Friends!
As many of you are aware, the Parent Support Group was initiated over 16 years ago to provide parents with information on various topics of interest and an opportunity to get together to share successes and problem solve. Over the years, the group had been led by several very dedicated parents whose children have since grown up, graduated and moved on. This year, two parents have volunteered to be Co-Facilitators of the group, Michelle McDonald and Katherine Maciol. We all thank Michelle and Katherine for taking this role! For the past 3 years we have partnered with the Parent Network of the Capital Region to continue to bring high quality workshops to our area. That seems to be working well and we will continue this during the 2017/18 school year (see below). We would also like to invite you to let us know of any topics you would be interested in learning about this year.
Finally, each year, the Parent Support Group has solicited nominations for the Special Educator of the Year Award. This year we had 5 nominations of very deserving educators. After reviewing them carefully, Megan Lopez, special education teacher at Goff Middle School, was selected to be the Special Educator of the Year for 2017/18. Congratulations to Megan and thank you to everyone for your nominations! Megan will be recognized at a Board of Education meeting, probably in late October. Please watch for this and attend to congratulate her if you are able.

Registration is required for all trainings and will close 2 business days prior to the event date.
Occasionally, winter weather creates hazardous driving conditions making it necessary to cancel a training event. When this occurs, every effort will be made to notify registrants of the cancellation a minimum of 2 hours prior to the event start time. Registrants will be notified using the phone number and/or email address provided at registration. Please remember to check your voicemail and/or email for cancellations 2 hours prior to an event’s starting time.
