Summer Reading

Dear Bell Top Families,

As another school year comes to a close, we are excited to continue a literacy initiative at Bell Top. Just as nightly reading throughout the school year has taken you on new adventures, summer reading is sure to do the same. For the past three years, Bell Top students and staff have experienced the joy of becoming a community of readers through a school-wide book club. Attached is your grade specific summer reading project which will continue our Bell Top Book Club through the lazy, hazy days of summer. This project is due on September 7, 2017. Although each grade level has a specific reading adventure awaiting, a consistent final project will be displayed for all families to enjoy at Bell Top’s Open House. Directions can also be found on the Bell Top website.

Many books can be borrowed from the East Greenbush Public Library. The library has a summer reading program for students and this year’s theme is “Build A Better World.” The fun begins with an Ice Cream Kick-Off on Monday, June 26 at 1:00, 3:00 or 7:00 pm. The Teen Summer Reading Kickoff (students entering grades 6-12) will take place on Friday, June 23 (check the East Greenbush Library website for details). Why not stop by the Library and join the fun!

We look forward to hearing about the “adventures” books take you on over the summer.

Happy Reading,
The Bell Top Teachers
