Columbia Athletics Hosting Open Weight Room This Summer – July 6, 2021
Columbia Athletics is hosting open weight room hours during the summer. The weight room will be open to all students in grades 7-12 Monday through Thursday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. More information.

After the most unusual and challenging school year that included remote learning, face masks, social distancing and one-way traffic in hallways, the Columbia High School Class of 2021 graduated in a wonderfully normal ceremony on Friday afternoon at Budnowski Field on the high school campus. Columbia High School to Host Entire Class of 2021 at One Graduation Ceremony – June 18, 2021
In response to further changes to New York State guidelines for outdoor gatherings announced earlier this week, Columbia High School has consolidated its three graduation ceremonies and will instead host one graduation for the Class of 2021 on Friday, June 25 on the CHS turf field at 4:00 p.m. More information.

Columbia Regents Exam and Bus Schedule – June 2021 – June 11, 2021
Columbia High School will administer Regents Exams on June 17, June 22, June 23 and June 24. There will be no school those days except for students taking exams. (All other schools in the district will be in session.) More information.

Columbia High School Updates Graduation Plans to Allow More Guests – May 25, 2021
In response to recent changes to New York State guidelines for graduations, Columbia High School has modified its original plans for graduation. The new state guidelines allow for 500 guests at outdoor graduation ceremonies without COVID-19 testing or proof of vaccination. Therefore, Columbia will now host three graduation ceremonies on Friday, June 25 at the CHS turf field and each student may bring four guests to the event. More information.

Pfizer Vaccine Approved for Children Ages 12-15 – Posted May 13, 2021
Effective immediately, all children ages 12-15 are eligible to receive the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine, meaning all state residents ages 12 and up can now be protected against COVID-19. More information.

Columbia High School Schedules Outdoor Graduation Ceremonies for June 25 – Posted May 12, 2021
Columbia High School will host four Graduation Ceremonies for the Class of 2021 on Friday, June 25 on the CHS turf field. The plan, which has been developed by school administrators and submitted to the Questar III BOCES Health and Safety Department and the Rensselaer County Health Department, will allow for 90 students, with two guests each, at each of the four events. The East Greenbush Central School District has updated its school calendar for this spring in response to recent information provided by the NYS Education Department.

  • Friday, May 28 – Remote Learning Day for Goff and Red Mill Only, All Other Schools Closed (makeup for power outage on October 9)
  • Tuesday, June 1 – All Schools Closed (New York State of Emergency on February 2)
  • Wednesday, June 16 – Changed to Live Virtual Wednesday for Columbia High School
  • Friday, June 18 – Changed to B Day for Columbia High School
  • Monday, June 21 – Changed to A Day for Columbia High School

Columbia Senior Prom Scheduled for June 12 – Posted April 23, 2021
Columbia High School’s Senior Prom for the Class of 2021 is scheduled for Saturday, June 12, 2021 and will be held outdoors under pavilions at Birch Hill in Castleton-on-Hudson, NY. All members of the Class of 2021 are invited to attend for free. Attendance will be limited to the Columbia Class of 2021. More information.

COVID-19 Vaccine Open to 16+ Starting April 6 – Posted March 29, 2021
New York State announced earlier today that starting Tuesday, April 6 at 8 a.m., all New Yorkers age 16+ will be eligible to schedule and receive the Pfizer vaccine. Parents who would like their children to receive the COVID-19 vaccine should visit the following website to view and schedule appointments: https://am-i-eligible.covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov.

District Approves In-Person Clubs and Extracurricular Activities – Posted March 26, 2021
The East Greenbush Central School District has begun approving in-person activities for student clubs. Advisors now have the option to request permission for their clubs to meet in person by submitting a form with the club’s information, meeting schedule and group size. More information.

Board of Regents Cancels Some State Tests in 2021 Due to Ongoing Pandemic – Posted March 25, 2021
The Board of Regents voted unanimously on March 15 to cancel all but four Regents Exams for June and cancel all Regents Exams in August due to the ongoing pandemic. The only Regents Exams that will be administered are federally mandated and include Algebra I, English, Earth Science (Written Test only) and Living Environment. More information.

CHS Class of 2023 Hosting Virtual Team Trivia Night – January 15 – Posted January 6, 2021
The Columbia Class of 2023 is sponsoring a Virtual Team Trivia Night on Friday, January 15 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. through Google Meet. The cost is $20 per team and anyone from Columbia is welcome to participate. Proceeds will benefit the Class of 2023. More information.

Driver Education Information – Spring 2021 – Posted January 4, 2021
Registration for the Spring 2021 Driver Education class at Columbia High School opens starting Monday, January 4 and will close Thursday, January 14. In order to register, students must submit a registration form (available in the Columbia Main Office) and the class fee of $115 by check, bank check or money order made out to East Greenbush CSD. Columbia Junior and Senior Proms Postponed – Posted December 9, 2020
Based on the present guidelines for social distancing and the uncertainty of what the spring holds, at this time both the Columbia High School Junior and Senior proms have been postponed for the Spring of 2021. Please know that Columbia High School’s administrators and class advisors will continue to monitor the situation in hope that these events might be held if circumstances allow.

NYS Education Department Cancels January 2021 Regents Examinations – Posted November 12, 2020
The January 2021 Regents Examinations have been canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, according to Interim State Education Commissioner Betty A. Rosa. No decision has been made regarding the June and August 2021 Regents Exams. More information.

2020-21 Yearbooks Are On Sale – Posted October 20, 2020

Columbia Cancels SAT Exams Through December – Posted September 15, 2020
Columbia High School has canceled its administration of SAT Exams through December due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The canceled dates include: September 26, October 3, November 7 and December 5.
