Candidates should be nominated for embodying the following qualities: making an extraordinary investment of time and energy, placing children’s needs first, and exhibiting exceptional skill, creativity, sensitivity, and patience. Please note that a candidate need not be a special education teacher to be nominated, but could be, for instance, a teaching assistant, social worker, speech/language teacher, administrator or any other school district employee.
Nominations should be submitted in written form and any format is acceptable. Please include the candidate’s full name and school, and a justification, with examples. We welcome nominations made by parents, students or educators. Completed nominations should be sent to:
Pat Martinelli, 21 Budd Lane, East Greenbush, New York 12061 OR
Jessica Lansing, 120 Horizon View Drive East Greenbush, NY 12061
nominations must be received by July 17, 2009.
All nominations will be fully considered and nominators will be advised in writing of the committee’s decision. The selected candidate will be formally recognized at a school board meeting in September.
