Groups of parents stopped to admire Genet Elementary School’s Selfie Mural in the lobby at Open House for grades K-2 on Tuesday evening.
The mural has 4”x4” self-portraits, or selfies, drawn by each student in art class. The selfies were drawn in a monochromatic color scheme and arranged by grade level.
“Parents were amazed as to how the project was colorfully displayed and excited to see their child’s self-portrait,” said Art Teacher Lisa Letourneau. “Many also commented on the progression of artistic skill and creativity moving up through the grade levels.”
Parents of students in grades 3-5 will be able to view the mural at their Open House on Thursday evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
