COVID-19 Updates and Information

The Board of Education has approved two changes to the instructional model: 1) Kindergarten students will resume five days a week of in-person learning starting on Monday, March 1. The Full Remote Program is still available to families. 2) Live Virtual Wednesdays will be eliminated for students in grades 1-5 starting March 10 to provide one additional in-person school day every other week. March 10 will be an in-person school day for B Day students and A Day students will have a remote day. The schedule will alternate going forward.

Workforce readiness conferenceBusiness and education leaders from the Capital Region gathered in Troy on Friday morning to discuss partnerships and how those opportunities can benefit local students.

East Greenbush Superintendent Jeff Simons and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Lynne Pampel attended the conference which included a panel discussion and breakout sessions.

“The Future of Workforce Readiness: Education & Business Partnerships,” which was sponsored by the Rensselaer County Chamber of Commerce, covered topics such as emerging career fields, internships, the importance of soft skills and both opportunities and challenges faced in education.

“There were a number of potential partners in attendance at the forum who can help us expand opportunities for our schools to develop career exploration pathways for our students,” Mr. Simons said.
