Green Meadow Named 2021 National Blue Ribbon School

Green Meadow Elementary School was named a 2021 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education on Tuesday morning. The recognition is based on a school’s overall academic performance. Green Meadow is one of only 325 schools in the country, including one of 19 schools in New York to receive the 2021 National Blue Ribbon School award. Congratulations to Green Meadow students, teachers, staff and families!

More than 100 students in grades K-5 are exploring a wide array of exciting after school enrichment courses this fall through Genet Elementary School’s Explore and Grow program. These classes offer students an opportunity to experience a topic of their choosing that might not ordinarily be part of their everyday program at school.

Courses include:

  • Board Gaming
  • Color Me Happy
  • Colors of Fall
  • Intro to German
  • Legal Eagles
  • Legos
  • Operation Wild
  • Pokemon
  • Salsa Dancing
  • Simple Machines
  • Zumba

“Many thanks to all of the volunteer teachers of these classes and to the Genet PTO for sponsoring and coordinating Explore and Grow again this year,” said Principal Ana Yeomans. “We couldn’t do it without them.”

Explore and Grow will return in the spring with more fun and engaging classes.
