The Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council met at Central Administration on Wednesday to plan a community event in the spring to benefit a local animal shelter. The group was formed by Superintendent Jeff Simons in October as a way of building student leadership.

The 20 students, grouped in teams of four, worked on Google Chromebooks using Google Classroom to plan the event. Google Classroom is a part of Google Apps for Education, an instructional technology tool which has been used at Columbia since February and at Goff since September. Students in grades 3-5 will be introduced to it in January 2017.

More information about the animal shelter fundraiser will be posted on the website later in winter.
