20161019 BOE meetingIn an effort to increase efficiency and conserve resources, East Greenbush Central School District has transitioned to paperless Board of Education meetings.

All Board of Education documents – agendas, minutes, policies – will now be housed digitally through BoardDocs, a paperless online governance service.

Anyone from the public may view BoardDocs, which is linked from the Board of Education webpage. Agendas will be posted online the Friday before each meeting. Minutes will be posted and policies will be updated immediately as they are approved by the Board of Education.

There will no longer be hard copies of documents at meetings. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own device for convenient viewing or to bring their own hardcopy. The meeting agenda will be projected onto a screen for the public to follow along.

The District is making this change to modernize its meetings and to save taxpayer money spent on paper and printing. It will also save staff time spent on compiling and distributing paper documents.

“The Board believes this is another positive step toward increased efficiency, transparency and open communication,” said Board of Education President Dr. Shay Harrison.

In October, Board of Education meeting start times were changed to 7:00 p.m. to make it easier for families to attend.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 14 at Howard L. Goff Middle School.
