Food for Families Program

The East Greenbush CSD operates a Food for Families Program that provides FREE FOOD to families in need. Boxes of food are packed regularly with a variety of grocery items and then distributed in a confidential process. If your family is in need of some extra support with food, please reach out to Audra Di Bacco at 518-207-2028 or We also accept food donations to help supply this program. Columbia and Goff students used their artistic and writing skills to celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. this month. On Friday, their work was displayed at Siena College’s 30th annual Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King Lecture Series on Race and Nonviolent Social Change.

Each year, the art invitational has a theme based upon a quote that relates to Dr. King’s vision. This year’s quote came from Desmond Tutu and said “The destruction of the Earth’s environment is the human rights challenge of our time.”

This week, Columbia held an in-house art exhibit to honor Martin Luther King Jr.

“We wanted to instill in our students Dr. King’s timeless values of courage, truth, justice, compassion, dignity, humility and service,” said art teacher Patti LeRoy.
