Maybe you don’t see them every day, but school counselors are there for students when needed.

Whether seeking advice about personal problems, figuring out a schedule or trying to handle the pressures of school and extracurricular activities, students find support with school counselors.

All this week, Columbia High School and Goff Middle School will celebrate National School Counseling Week with a variety of activities.

Columbia Goff
Monday Sign a banner that says “What your school counselor means to you.” Counselors will wear t-shirts that says “One kind word can change someone’s day.” How well do you know your school counselor?
Tuesday Answer a fun test about the school counselors. Stop by the Guidance Office and say hi to your counselor. Receive an “I love my school counselor sticker.”
Wednesday Counselors will wear t-shirts that says “Bug me, I’m a school counselor” (with lady bugs on it). Teachers are thanked for their collaboration with counselors and will receive 100 Grand candy bars in their mailboxes that say “You’re worth 100 grand to our students.” Write a random act of kindness you see on a LEGO piece.
Thursday Receive stickers that say “I ‘heart’ my school counselor” and “My school counselor helps me succeed.” Give a compliment to someone.
Friday Staff will wear apparel from their alma mater. Students and staff will wear a t-shirt or apparel from their favorite college.
