Four Columbia High School alumni were inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame and nearly $10,000 was raised for senior awards and summer enrichment grants at the East Greenbush Education Foundation’s annual gala last month.

More than 150 people attended the popular springtime event which featured dinner, raffles, student performances and an awards ceremony. Four alumni – William Bianco ’83, Fr. David DeJulio ’76, Martin Mahar ’83 and Ernest Tubbs ’86 – and community members Jeff and Holly Rose were recognized for their “positive and profound impact on society through personal achievement, scholarly pursuit, or community service.”

“The East Greenbush Education Foundation Gala is a wonderful event which celebrates the accomplishments of our alumni who’ve achieved distinction,” said Superintendent Jeff Simons. “The event brings out the best of our community.”

All proceeds from the gala go towards senior awards and providing summer enrichment grants for East Greenbush Central School District students to attend in areas such as athletics, music, the arts and leadership training.
