Kindergarten Returns Full Time Starting March 1

The Board of Education has approved two changes to the instructional model: 1) Kindergarten students will resume five days a week of in-person learning starting on Monday, March 1. The Full Remote Program is still available to families. 2) Live Virtual Wednesdays will be eliminated for students in grades 1-5 starting March 10 to provide one additional in-person school day every other week. March 10 will be an in-person school day for B Day students and A Day students will have a remote day. The schedule will alternate going forward.

East Greenbush CSD has been informed that the Town of East Greenbush sidewalk construction and New York State paving of Route 151 are near completion.

Paving will take place the next 2-3 days and uninterrupted traffic patterns are expected the week of October 16. The sidewalk contractors are doing final touch-ups, and expect it to be open to pedestrians on October 23 pending DOT approval.

“I am pleased that these important upgrades to Luther Road will be completed soon,” said Superintendent Jeff Simons. “The new sidewalk will make our students who walk to school, as well as, the East Greenbush Library or the YMCA much safer. I thank the community for its patience and the contractors for their cooperation in balancing the construction with our school operations.”

Students, staff and parents driving to Columbia High School are encouraged to leave earlier than normal to ensure they arrive to school on time. The construction crews will maintain two-lane traffic until 7:30 a.m. and it will be restored at 1:45 p.m. to accommodate school arrival and dismissal.
