Three Columbia students signed letters of intent to play college sports next year. Madison Burns (Softball/Hofstra University), Danny Watson (Baseball/Virginia Commonwealth University) and Caitlynn Richardson (Wrestling/Ferrum College) made their announcements in front of family, friends, teammates and the media on Tuesday after school in the auditorium.

Burns and Watson are standout pitchers for the softball and baseball teams, respectively, and Richardson will be the first girl in school history to wrestle in college.

“I’m so excited,” Burns said. “It’s everything I’ve ever dreamed of.”

Congratulations to our student athletes, their family and coaches!
