Columbia High School will be open on Tuesday, February 6 following successful repairs to a broken valve connecting a main water pipe to the school.
The district’s Buildings and Grounds department worked with the Town of East Greenbush Water Department and Keller Construction to make the repairs on Monday in consultation with the Rensselaer County Health Department. School had been closed Monday because the building’s water needed to be shut off.
As a precaution, all school drinking fountains will be taken out of service on Tuesday so water quality testing can be done. Bottled water will be available but students and staff are encouraged to bring water bottles from home.
