Kindergarten Returns Full Time Starting March 1

The Board of Education has approved two changes to the instructional model: 1) Kindergarten students will resume five days a week of in-person learning starting on Monday, March 1. The Full Remote Program is still available to families. 2) Live Virtual Wednesdays will be eliminated for students in grades 1-5 starting March 10 to provide one additional in-person school day every other week. March 10 will be an in-person school day for B Day students and A Day students will have a remote day. The schedule will alternate going forward.

Jennifer Serian at CASDA Awards

Jennifer Serian with Superintendent Jeff Simons at the 2018 CASDA Friends of Education Awards.

Jennifer Serian was honored for her service to the East Greenbush Central School District with the Capital Area School Development Association (CASDA) Friends of Education Award earlier this month in Albany.

CASDA presents this award to recognize the selfless contributions of individuals who dedicate themselves to serving students and their school communities.

As a parent volunteer, Mrs. Serian has worked tirelessly to provide opportunities to students in schools throughout the district for more than 15 years. She has organized field trips, fundraisers and school dances, and currently serves as vice president of the East Greenbush Education Foundation, which works to raise funds that support summer enrichment programs and other school activities.

“Wherever we find students, staff and parents working together to bring excitement to the schools, we find Jenn Serian,” said Superintendent Jeff Simons.

Congratulations to Mrs. Serian!
