Capital Project

The East Greenbush CSD has proposed a $116 million capital project that, if approved by voters, would improve facilities and grounds at all seven schools at no additional cost to the local taxpayer. The proposed capital project will be a proposition on the School Budget Vote and Board Election ballot scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Prince Charming in Cinderella

Brandon Smith ’20 as Prince Charming in “Cinderella.”

The Columbia Players are performing the musical “Cinderella” on Friday, March 2 and Saturday, March 3 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Tickets are available at the door and cost $12 for students/seniors and $15 for adults.

We stopped by a dress rehearsal earlier this week to speak with Brandon Smith ’20 who is playing Prince Charming.

Q: How’s the show coming along?
A: It going well. It’s a good show and it’s a lot of fun.

Q: What do you like about your character?
A: He’s a nice person. Most characters in this play are not nice people. He does good things on instinct.

Q: So he’s someone the audience can root for?
A: Yes.

Q: What is your favorite scene in the show?
A: I like Scene 1 when I first enter, being all goofy and not knowing who I am. And then I sing a fun song.

Q: Why should someone come see “Cinderella”?
A: Cinderella is a great story and very uplifting. It tells people that no matter who you are or what your background is, you can do anything.
