Kindergarten Returns Full Time Starting March 1

The Board of Education has approved two changes to the instructional model: 1) Kindergarten students will resume five days a week of in-person learning starting on Monday, March 1. The Full Remote Program is still available to families. 2) Live Virtual Wednesdays will be eliminated for students in grades 1-5 starting March 10 to provide one additional in-person school day every other week. March 10 will be an in-person school day for B Day students and A Day students will have a remote day. The schedule will alternate going forward.

The District’s Meet the Candidates Night on Wednesday, May 9 has been canceled because the Board of Education election is uncontested. Four candidates submitted nominating petitions for the four available seats.

Nominating petitions were due to the District Clerk on April 16. To learn more about the four Board of Education candidates – John Dunn, Jennifer Massey, Michele Skumurski and JoAnn Taylor – read page 7 of the Budget Newsletter.

The School Board Election will be held in conjunction with the Budget Vote on Tuesday, May 15. The three people with the most votes will win terms from July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2021. The person with the fourth highest vote total will win a term from May 16, 2018 – June 30, 2019.
