Kindergarten Returns Full Time Starting March 1

The Board of Education has approved two changes to the instructional model: 1) Kindergarten students will resume five days a week of in-person learning starting on Monday, March 1. The Full Remote Program is still available to families. 2) Live Virtual Wednesdays will be eliminated for students in grades 1-5 starting March 10 to provide one additional in-person school day every other week. March 10 will be an in-person school day for B Day students and A Day students will have a remote day. The schedule will alternate going forward.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Scott Siver surprised with EGTA Teacher of the Year award

Genet fifth grade teacher Scott Siver surprised with the EGTA Teacher of the Year award.

Great news! Our own Scott Siver, Grade 5 teacher, has been named “Teacher of the Year” by the East Greenbush Teacher’s Association.

Mr. Siver is acknowledged for his dedication to excellence in teaching and his commitment to the children and school community outside of the classroom. Congratulations, Mr. Siver! We are proud of you!

On Saturday, May 12th, from 9:00 AM—12:00 PM, at the East Greenbush Town Park, the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Group will be scheduling its 2nd Annual Dog Walk and Wash. All proceeds from this event will be donated to Peppertree Rescue. If you have a pet dog who would like to take a walk and enjoy a wash, please stop by this event. The donation for a walk and wash is $5.00. Students are hoping this event will raise even more than last year’s $1,031.00 donation.

Just a reminder that the PTO’s Spring Fling is coming soon! Games and activities will be taking place on Friday, May 11th, from 5:30-7:30 PM at school. Bring the family and have some fun! Hope to see you there!

Best regards,
Ana Yeomans
