Ronald McDonald House signHoward L. Goff Middle School will be collecting donations for the rest of the school year to benefit the Ronald McDonald House in Albany.

Ronald McDonald House Charities provides a haven of comfort, love, hope and support – free of charge – for critically ill children and their families. The Family Room and Family Suite offer families respite and support within the Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center, so families can be close to their ill child without worrying about hotel costs.

Goff Student Council’s primary request is for pull tabs from items such as canned foods and beverages, which can be recycled for money to fund RMHC services. Thousands of dollars have been raised from collecting these aluminum tabs!

Please send any pull tabs to Goff with your child in a Ziploc baggie up until June 15. Collection jars are in each house office and the main office.

Here are some items that have pull tabs:

  • Soda/Tea/Beverage Cans
  • Tennis Ball Cans
  • Soup Cans
  • Pet Food Cans
  • Anything else with a pull tab

Other items that our local Ronald McDonald House is looking for are:

  • Juice boxes (100% juice)
  • Individual sized healthy snacks like granola bars, boxes of raisins & nut packs
  • Paper towels, plates & bowls
  • Antibacterial kitchen counter spray cleaners
  • Individual sized boxes of cereal

These items can be dropped off to the donation boxes located in the main office.
