For the second year in a row, East Greenbush Central School District students hosted a Dog Wash and Walk fundraiser to benefit Peppertree Rescue, a local animal shelter which finds homes for dogs in need. The students washed dogs and then took them for walks around the East Greenbush Town Park on Saturday.
The event raised $566.00 for Peppertree Rescue.
Students in the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council organized the event from start to finish – collecting donations and supplies, making promotional materials and filling different roles on the day of the fundraiser.
The group, which includes students from all East Greenbush schools, meets regularly with Superintendent Jeff Simons throughout the year to develop leadership skills and improve their schools and communities.
“The Student Advisory Council is an exceptional group of student leaders who committed time on a beautiful Saturday morning to help support the community,” Mr. Simons said. “I could not be more proud of their accomplishments.”
Proud of our students for organizing this special event! https://t.co/t7tIb4NuSH
