Capital Project

The East Greenbush CSD has proposed a $116 million capital project that, if approved by voters, would improve facilities and grounds at all seven schools at no additional cost to the local taxpayer. The proposed capital project will be a proposition on the School Budget Vote and Board Election ballot scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Students build a pyramid made of plastic cups

Students build a pyramid of plastic cups without using their hands.

A group of four students each held a string that connected to a rubber band and wrapped around a plastic cup. Together, they slowly lifted the cup and placed it atop other cups to form a pyramid. They had completed the challenge of creating a pyramid without using their hands.

Students build a pyramid of plastic cupsThe STEM activity fostered teamwork and problem solving among Green Meadow’s fifth graders.

“The students loved this activity,” said Special Education Teacher Colleen Reinstein. “While reflecting with their peers they talked about the importance of compromise, perseverance, taking initiative and patience.”

After the activity, students completed a written response to the importance of teamwork and how to overcome challenges.
