Kindergarten Returns Full Time Starting March 1

The Board of Education has approved two changes to the instructional model: 1) Kindergarten students will resume five days a week of in-person learning starting on Monday, March 1. The Full Remote Program is still available to families. 2) Live Virtual Wednesdays will be eliminated for students in grades 1-5 starting March 10 to provide one additional in-person school day every other week. March 10 will be an in-person school day for B Day students and A Day students will have a remote day. The schedule will alternate going forward.

NYSED logoEast Greenbush Central School District students scored near the top of all Capital Region school districts on the 2018 New York State Grades 3-8 Tests, according to state data. East Greenbush students scored 64% proficient in English Language Arts (T-3rd) and 63% proficient in math (8th).

“Increases in our New York State test scores reflect the professional practices of our teachers, administrators and support staff,” said Superintendent Jeff Simons. “We are focused on aligning classroom instruction with the learning standards reflected by the tests; paying equal attention to promoting a safe and healthy learning environment within which all children can flourish.”

Each student’s test results have been mailed home directly from the Northeastern Regional Information Center. The results have no impact on a student’s academic record.
