COVID-19 Updates and Information

The Board of Education has approved two changes to the instructional model: 1) Kindergarten students will resume five days a week of in-person learning starting on Monday, March 1. The Full Remote Program is still available to families. 2) Live Virtual Wednesdays will be eliminated for students in grades 1-5 starting March 10 to provide one additional in-person school day every other week. March 10 will be an in-person school day for B Day students and A Day students will have a remote day. The schedule will alternate going forward.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am very pleased to share with you that at Wednesday evening’s Board of Education Meeting, the Board of Education approved the appointment of Mr. Wayne Grignon to the position of Principal at Genet Elementary School, effective July 1, 2019.

As many of you know, Mr. Grignon is currently the Principal at Howard L. Goff Middle School, in our school district.  I have had the opportunity to work closely with Mr. Grignon in his roles as Assistant Principal at Goff, and then Principal.  Mr. Grignon’s teaching experience prior to becoming an administrator was at the elementary level.

I believe that Mr. Grignon will be a strong instructional leader for Genet and that our children, staff, and parents will enjoy his presence at Genet.  Once the spring has arrived, Mr. Grignon and I will be meeting regularly to begin transitioning information before I retire on June 30th.

Genet will be in great hands and I know that you will make Mr. Grignon feel welcome!

Best regards,

Ana Yeomans
