Capital Project

The East Greenbush CSD has proposed a $116 million capital project that, if approved by voters, would improve facilities and grounds at all seven schools at no additional cost to the local taxpayer. The proposed capital project will be a proposition on the School Budget Vote and Board Election ballot scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Are you interested in serving on the East Greenbush Central School District Board of Education? If so, now is the time to start thinking about eligibility requirements, deadlines and how to run a campaign.

To help with this process, the New York State School Boards Association has created the School Board Member Experience – a new website that provides information regarding everything on eligibility, deadlines and starting the campaign process to basic roles and responsibilities, training requirements, time commitments and more.

“The School Board Member Experience website provides the public with a behind-the-scenes look at what school board candidates go through during the process of running for office and then getting acclimated during their first year in office,” said NYSSBA Executive Director Timothy G. Kremer. “We hope this will give members of the public a better appreciation for the work of school boards and the individual sacrifices members make to serve on a school board, as well as the time and effort involved in earning a seat on a school board.”

Nominating petitions for the East Greenbush Central School District Board of Education will be available starting April 1 and are due back by April 22. The election is scheduled for May 21.
