Even though the school year is ending this week, free meals will still be available to children and teens in need throughout Rensselaer County this summer. Children from households that meet the income guidelines for free or reduced price meals in the National School Lunch Program and children who are part of households that receive food stamps or benefits under the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) are automatically eligible to receive free meals.

There are three free meal sites located near the East Greenbush Central School District, which are sponsored by the Rensselaer County Department for Youth.

If you are interested in the summer meal program or would like more information, please contact the Rensselaer County Department for Youth at 518-266-7501.
