Raychelle Adadjo

Congratulations to incoming Columbia High School freshman Raychelle Adadjo whose original musical composition was selected as a winning entry at a statewide competition through the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) this past spring.

Ms. Adadjo’s piece, which she composed as a member of Goff Middle School’s 8th Grade Band, is titled “Soaring at Sunset” for clarinet and strings.

As a winner, she will have her composition performed at the state music conference this coming December in Rochester, N.Y. She will also receive written feedback on her composition from NYSSMA.

The competition had three different divisions: Elementary, Middle School and High School. Ms. Adadjo is one of only 11 students from across the state to be selected as a winner.
