Dear Genet Families!

Happy Fall Everyone! The third full week of school is officially in the books! There was a lot of wonderful learning taking place from our Character Education Assembly (this month Integrity) to the wonderful artwork from Mrs. Letourneau’s class that I was able to observe.  I hope that your child(ren) are adjusting well back to “school mode.”

Thank you to all of our families that attended Open House last evening for Grades 3-5 and Mrs. Hammill’s Kindergarten class.  It was a pleasure meeting many of you. I hope you found the information shared by your child’s teacher and I informative. The Genet Staff and I look forward to a very successful year together.

I would like to congratulate all of our students who ran for Student Council.  There were so many students interested in being part of something bigger than themselves and looking for a way to give back to the Genet School.  I encourage all students to stay involved regardless of the election results as we are always looking for helpers throughout the course of the school year.  Congratulations to the following students on being elected by their peers:

  • President –  Christopher Lochan
  • Vice President – Amber Travis
  • Secretary – Lily Hegener
  • Grade 3  Reps: Audry Crewell, Owen DiBella, Nora Mahoney, Easton Stilson
  • Grade 4 Reps: Gabriella Germano, Srivar Gillela, Anna Salerno
  • Grade 5 Reps: Emmeline Bombard, Alex O’Grady, Nicky Zin

Important Dates to Mark Your Calendars:

On October 15, 2019 Genet Elementary School will be practicing an Evacuation Drill in coordination with Howard L. Goff Middle School.  On that date, we will practice evacuating our school to Goff. The drill will begin at 9:30 AM and will take 40 minutes to complete. There will be a formal letter to come home with students in the next week which outlines the practice drill.

November 8, 2019 – Emergency Go Home Drill –  On this day we will be dismissing earlier and students are expected to go to the emergency location on their verification form.  If you are unsure what your emergency location is, please call Mrs. Giordano in the Main Office at Genet Elementary School.

Thank you for your continued support of Genet and I wish you all the best this coming week!

Sincerely,

Wayne Grignon
Principal
