FBLA students at GE HealthcareColumbia High School students in Future Business Leaders of America visited GE Healthcare in the Rensselaer Tech Park on Thursday. The students learned about the manufacturing facility that produces digital flat panel X-ray detectors that form the heart of imaging systems as well as other high-tech critical sub-components.

FBLA students at GE HealthcareDuring the field trip, students met with engineers, toured cleanroom facilities and viewed demonstrations of robots and 3D printers.

“This was an eye-opening experience for our students because they were able to see engineering and manufacturing career opportunities right here in their backyard,” said Columbia business teacher Donna Shepardson.

Thank you to GE Healthcare for hosting our students and to Junior Achievement for sponsoring the trip!
