COVID Updates and Information

Effective immediately, all children ages 12-15 are eligible to receive the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine, meaning all state residents ages 12 and up can now be protected against COVID-19. The Rensselaer County Health Department will be hosting a Pfizer Vaccine Clinic for 12 to 15 year olds at the McDonough Sports Complex at Hudson Valley Community College on Friday, May 14 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Children must be accompanied by a parent and bring proof of age. This is a walk-in clinic. No appointment is necessary.

Ten Columbia High School students will put their singing to the test on Friday evening as they compete on Columbia Idol at 7:00 p.m. in the school auditorium. Each contestant will perform a song on stage for a panel of three judges. The top five singers will advance to the final round and perform again with the winner being chosen by an audience vote.

The event will be hosted by Columbia students Brigid Mack ’21 and Brandon Smith ’20.

Tickets will be sold at the door and cost $10 for adults and $8 for students/senior citizens. All proceeds will benefit Columbia Chamber Singers.
