Kindergarten Returns Full Time Starting March 1

The Board of Education has approved two changes to the instructional model: 1) Kindergarten students will resume five days a week of in-person learning starting on Monday, March 1. The Full Remote Program is still available to families. 2) Live Virtual Wednesdays will be eliminated for students in grades 1-5 starting March 10 to provide one additional in-person school day every other week. March 10 will be an in-person school day for B Day students and A Day students will have a remote day. The schedule will alternate going forward.

Due to today’s snow day, the Genet Elementary School Grade 4/5 Concert originally scheduled for tonight has been moved to Thursday, December 19. We realize that Columbia High School has its Winter Concert (Part 2) that night as well, however, there are only a few Genet families who would have a conflict. To accommodate those families that this rescheduled date may impact, the Genet concert will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Genet Auditorium. Students should arrive at Genet by 5:30 p.m. to setup and take their seats for the performance. Also, we will be altering our schedule that evening to move around performances so students who have siblings at the high school will take the stage at the beginning of the program and then can leave so they can attend their older siblings performance for 7:00 p.m. As a reminder to our families, the Genet concert is typically an hour in duration.

The Genet 4th and 5th grade students will have a practice run of their performance Thursday morning for the entire school at 9:30 a.m. Students should bring their instruments to school Thursday morning.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child(ren)’s music teacher or Principal Grignon.
