COVID Updates and Information

Effective immediately, all children ages 12-15 are eligible to receive the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine, meaning all state residents ages 12 and up can now be protected against COVID-19. The Rensselaer County Health Department will be hosting a Pfizer Vaccine Clinic for 12 to 15 year olds at the McDonough Sports Complex at Hudson Valley Community College on Friday, May 14 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Children must be accompanied by a parent and bring proof of age. This is a walk-in clinic. No appointment is necessary.

The Columbia High School and Shaker High School Boys’ Basketball programs are playing in the 2nd annual Peanut Butter and Jelly Games on Friday, February 14 to benefit the East Greenbush Central School District’s Backpack Program.

The freshman basketball game will start at 4:00 p.m., the JV game starts at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity game starts at 7:00 p.m. All three games will be played in the Columbia gymnasium.

Shaker players, cheerleaders and fans are asked to bring jars of peanut butter and players, cheerleaders and fans from Columbia are encouraged to bring jars of jelly (plastic jars if possible). All food items donated will be used by the East Greenbush Backpack Program which provides food to students who may be at risk for needing meals during weekends and school breaks.

Anyone who brings a jar of peanut butter, jelly or other non-perishable item will entered into raffles.

Admission costs $1 for students and $3 for adults.
